The end of 2017 marked the 14th year of KPK's operation We maybe young, but we have made corruptors in this country in a state of disarray. Everybody knows that it is not an easy task KPK must continue to improve our performance and tasks, because people await the end results. If KPK is wavering, the society would give up, and all would be lost. The country has over 250 million people. The islands stretch across 34 provinces, 415 regencies, and 93 cities. There are governors, regents, and mayors of the same number KPK strives to realize a much cleaner Indonesia that is free from corruption. Every sector must be improved with breakthroughs and facilities that support the attempts to eradicate corruption In 2017, we faced a series of challenges that must be waded across with high fighting spirit. A member of our family, Novel Baswedan, remains in medical treatment to cure his severely injured left eye after being attacked with acid by two unknown men. Despite the risk of losing his sight, Novel maintains his Support for the rest of the team. He is relentless. We will keep on fighting to eradicate corruption regardless of the threats We will not sit in silence with what happened to Novel The investigation to disclose the perpetrator of the ruthless attack against our family must be completed Another challenge related to the political process that remains until now. We are an independent institution but we do not refuse to be watched, KPK will comply with the process as long as it is within the corridor of law if it is in line with the regulations, as the executor, we will certainly not avoid it. We will never stop fighting to improve breakthroughs and facilities supporting the attempts to eradicate corruption In terms of prevention, for example, the Coordination and Supervision for Prevention efforts are integrated with enforcement. As the results, KPK could dig more data and facts in largeted areas The roots of the problems could be found, easing the supervision. It is similar to curing an illness, where accurate diagnosis will lead to accurate therapy. The same mechanism applies to other programs, such as corruption eradication attempts in health, energy, private and political sectors, as well as programs of education, information dissemination, and campaign. They were all preceded by finding the roots of the problems.
