The story follows two sisters, Viann and Isabelle, who are starkly different yet inseparably close. Viann, older and more reserved, lives a peaceful life in the French countryside with her husband Antoine and their daughter. In stark contrast, Isabelle is a bold and defiant spirit residing in the bustling streets of Paris. However, their worlds are turned upside down when war breaks out. Antoine is called to fight, leaving Viann to manage alone until their estranged father sends Isabelle to her aid.
