Kindergarten-Grade 4-- An excellent presentation of introductory material about water. Addressing readers in the second-person "you," it clearly explains such terms as "brook," "stream," "river," and "delta," and illustrates such basic concepts as where water comes from, how it travels, and where it goes. The illustrations are simple, almost childlike, in soft colors. In a few cases, however, it is difficult to distinguish between water and land because the contrast in tone is subtle; otherwise, the artwork is pleasant and effective.
