Deskripsi
As marginalized groups, women and children often face the process of domestication in a patriarchal culture, have limited participation in society, and often become objects of violence and have their basic human rights neglected. Data released by WHO in 2021 states that one in three women in the world is estimated to have experienced violence from their partner. Likewise, in the UNICEF report, it is estimated that one billion children experience the impact of violence every year. The publication of this book, which has entered its second edition, certainly complements various policies related to protecting the rights of women and children. Here the author reviews it from an academic and applicable juridical perspective, so that the presence of the book becomes meaningful and has significance, especially for judges and other law enforcers in Indonesia, as well as being useful for observers of women and children. In this Second Edition there are several additions regarding the protection of women and children which need to be clarified in relation to national law, including: Law Number 1 of 1974 jo. Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage, Supreme Court Regulation Number 3 of 2017 and Number 5 of 2019, Compilation of Islamic Law, Government Regulation Number 10 of 1983 as well as several Circular Letters from the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia relating to the protection of women and children. Apart from that, in this Second Edition, a list of relevant abbreviations has been added.
