Personally, i started getting really into it during the last quarter of the book. because half of it is absolutely boring. it’s centered around evier porter (real name lucca marino), who—at least from my own interpretation—feels like some kind of secret agent working in the underground business world, like black market stuff, not the CIA or FBI-type secret agent. for me the plot’s neat but a bit confusing since it jumps back and forth in time, and evie’s got a bunch of different aliases for each job. most of them aren’t really connected except toward the end. i like how the story mixes clever mystery, secret agent vibes, light action, and puzzles/game with a light touch of romance between evie and ryan, and also evie’s partnership with devon (i loovee their remote friendship) and i’m super glad it actually has a proper happy ending instead of being open-ending🫢😂💯 i’m still curious about mr. smith’s background, his business, and some other details, but since there aren’t many plot holes, it’s all good. overall, it’s a solid read. the twist really got my jaw dropped!
